How to Dress Well in the Winter (Style Tips for Women)
The winter can bring cold weather, and long sunless days, making us want to do nothing more than hibernate in our beds. Yet life goes on, and we still have to go to work, and do things as usual. When you don’t feel up to anything other than sleeping, it can make even dressing a chore, but if your pride means you don’t feel good about yourself wearing the same thing every day or staying in tracksuit bottoms and the biggest jumper you can find, read on for some style tips. It is important for your self-esteem and mental well-being that you are happy with how you look. It can be a vicious cycle when you feel so bad you don’t dress up as nicely as you could, but then you feel worse because you don’t like how you look. The trick is finding a style that takes hardly any effort at all, is comfortable, keeps you warm, but still makes you look like you care about your appearance. Remember though, that if the winter makes you feel low and you are truly struggling to get on with your everyday activities or you feel down and depressed for more than two weeks, you will benefit from seeing a health professional. Contact your GP as they will have some resources and advice available for you if you are suffering from depression or Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). In the meantime, here is some advice on how to dress well in the winter.
- Fill your winter wardrobe with Womens Aran Sweaters. You can buy yours at Shamrock Gift. They are absolutely gorgeous jumpers, and extremely comfortable making the perfect staple clothes item for the winter. They are of a very high quality, handmade, and knitted using a traditional pattern originating from Ireland. They are a must-have for women looking for style and comfort this winter.
- As well as having a selection of stylish jumpers that keep you warm and looking good, invest in a new winter coat that can make you look good everytime you go outside, no matter what you are wearing underneath! Make sure it is good quality and made of a good material so that it lasts at least until the end of next winter!
- Shoes are an important part of any outfit, and it is easy to forget this. In the winter, the best type of shoes are leather boots, or faux leather if you are vegan. There are so many different styles of boots to choose from such as ankle boots, to heeled boots, to knee-high boots which can give your legs some extra warmth in cold weather. They also look very stylish over skinny jeans.
- Find a winter hat that can keep you warm, but also cover your hair when you can’t be bothered to style or brush it. The good thing about winter is that you can cover up. You don’t have to shave like you do in summer or worry about looking tanned. You also get the perfect excuse to cover your hair. I know this is the opposite to flaunting your stuff, but in winter, some of us just feel like hibernating!
