How to wax legs?
When choosing the type of hair removal we want to do, it is good to consider how the bottom of our bikini will be to know what shape our hair will have to be. The four main styles you can choose from are:
- Classic: It is the least painful because it is the one that epilates the least area since only the hair that stands out naturally and that expands towards the legs and the lower part of the belly is removed.
- American: It is based on the square shape to eliminate all the excess and, in addition, to be able to adapt to almost any type of bikini. However, it also covers the lip area, which will be more annoying than the classic one.
- Brazilian: Brazilian bikini waxing is almost identical to the American style but making a thinner triangular shape, ideal when wearing smaller bikinis in this frontal area.
- Integral: As its name suggests, it is about integrally removing all the hair, leaving the entire pubic area without a trace of it.

Steps to wax legs
The leg area is a much more sensitive area than the legs or arms. That is why if you do not have much experience, we recommend you go to a specialist aesthetic center. However, if you decide to do it yourself at home, our advice is to use quality products that do not irritate the area. There are two waxing techniques for waxing the bikini area, cold wax or hot wax, and each has its procedure:
Waxing your leg with hot wax
You should always follow the instructions on the product, but in essence, you should melt the wax until it is hot and liquid. With the help of a wooden spatula, apply it in the previously delimited area with the desired shape and wash and dry well. The hot wax must be applied to respect the direction of hair growth.
Let it dry for a few seconds. Once it has dried and a bottom edge can be grasped with your hands, the other hand should be placed on the surrounding skin and tightened to facilitate removal without overstretching the skin with the wax itself.
Next, you have to firmly pull it in the opposite direction to the growth of the hair, where you have been able to lift the edge of the wax to ensure that it comes out from its roots with a quick and energetic movement.
Waxing your leg with cold wax
This technique is usually faster but more painful than hot wax since the pores do not open the same and, when the hair is pulled out, the skin can suffer more. Usually, it is sold in cold wax strips.
Exfoliate the skin in the area. If possible, do it a few days before waxing. When you wax, wash the area with warm or slightly hot water, this will open the pores and the hair will come out better. Dry the area well.
Rub the wax bands on your hands to warm them up a bit and spread them apart. Place the cold wax band on your leg and press it in the direction that your hair grows, that is, in your favor. With one hand, tighten your skin and with the other, grab one end of the band to pull in the opposite direction of hair growth, that is, the opposite of when you placed it. Repeat the process with the other leg.
Tips to wax your leg without pain
Waxing the leg at home with wax can be of great help and much cheaper than in a beauty center, although if we are not sure if we will do it well or any other questions, it is best to go to someone professional. Be that as it may, a series of factors should be taken into account before and after waxing so that our skin does not suffer:
Before waxing your leg
Suppose you want to know how to wax your leg without pain. In that case, the only thing we can assure you is that it is convenient not to be near the days of menstruation or precisely with this since the skin is more sensitive and you may feel more discomfort or pain than when you epilate on the days furthest from your period.
Clean the area well to avoid infection. Do not apply the wax to areas with burns or wounds. After waxing your leg
Hydrate the area well with hydrating and refreshing products, such as aloe vera. Remove all the remains of wax well. Don’t sweat a lot or play sports for a few hours as the skin can become more easily irritated. Do not expose yourself that same day to the sun to avoid irritation.
