For a walk that will get your blood really pumping, Whernside is a great walk. Walk across three peaks of Yorkshire where you will be rewarded with glorious views of the Yorkshire Dales, as well as the fantastic Ribblehead viaduct.
For something a little less strenuous, the railway trail is a lovely 3-mile walk. The beautiful wintery valleys around the Hebden bridge are stunning at this time of the year, and you will also walk through Walshaw woods which are the home of lots of species of wildlife.
For dramatic views of the sea in the winter, there is nowhere better than the Yorkshire coast walk. Salburn is the place to go for this walk – at under 5 miles it takes in a lot without being too strenuous. Head along the coast path and you will see Guibal fanhouse, built to commemorate the industrial heritage of the local area.
