HOW TO CLEAN A LEATHER BAG
If you have not used your bag lately and stored it with little care, you will have to eliminate the bad smell first. Just open all the zippers and all the pockets, and let the bag air out in the open. Remember that it is better to keep the bags in a case.
Over time, the skin tends to dry out. Therefore, it is recommended to hydrate the bag with a specialized product. If you don’t have any at home, you can go for a moisturizer, like the legendary Nivea.
If a stain has come out of your favorite bag, first moisten a cloth with water and try to remove the stains with small circular movements. Mind you, never immerse any leather accessory in the water!
To remove mold stains, clean the bag with a cloth soaked in ethyl alcohol diluted with water. You can also opt for a mixture of water and vinegar.
Remember to brush your bag frequently. This way you will be able to remove dirt and dust particles.
Is your bag dark leather? Bring the water to a boil in a pot. When it starts to boil, place the stain on top of the pot so the steam can soften the stain. Let the bag air dry and voila.
Do you want to remove oil stains? Try cleaning your bag with talcum powder. Let the product work for a few hours and remove it with a soft brush. This will ensure that the fat is absorbed.
HOW TO CLEAN A WHITE LEATHER BAG?
If your bag is white or another light color, use the egg white. First, separate it from the yolk and beat the white. Next, dip a clean cloth into the whipped clear and use it to wipe off the stains. When the bag has dried, clean it with a wool garment.
If homemade tricks haven’t worked, your best bet is to take your bag to a dry cleaner for experts to treat it with specialized products.
